The new tie-up, launched early this year, builds on existing cooperation between Sanhua and Honeywell, the refrigerant producer, on non-flammable and green refrigeration N41 (R466A) application and commercialization, in need of environment protection required by Kigali Agreement reached to phase out HFCs and reduce the emission of greenhouse gas.
While R410A is a traditional refrigeration fluid widely used in A/C market, R466A is a brand-new kind of alternatives. It is safe and green, non-flammable and low-GWP. It has a modest GWP content that is sixty-five percent less than R410. We believe it will make a difference in the process of accelerating the drop-in of new low-GMP refrigerants or mixtures. This obliges all operators in the sector to revise the choice of components and the design of the machines.
In early 2019, Honeywell executives visited Sanhua and met with Sanhua senior executives in Hangzhou. Dr. Linjie Huang, SVP and chief scientist of Sanhua Holding Group, Jeb Ni, GM of Sanhua Micro-channel, Yuzhong Chen, and GM of Sanhua Commercial received them. They had an important business meeting on alternative refrigerants and R466A application, as well as components solutions. Some progress has been made on Sanhua components with regards to the new fluid R466A. They are looking for OEMs cooperation in the next phase of the process.
“Solstice N41 is non-flammable and it is a real breakthrough in the HAVC industry." Linjie Huang said, “Key components using N41 have been tested and certified, it is going to be put the market in the very near future.” This good news was announced by Honeywell, the well-known refrigerant producer, in New Jersey, America, and local time on August 14.
